David leads financial statement audits and Uniform Guidance engagements for a diverse portfolio of nonprofit organizations, including charitable organizations, advocacy groups, trade associations, and other tax-exempt entities. His experience includes organizations with federal awards, donor-restricted funding, fiscal sponsorship arrangements, and other complex accounting and reporting matters. He also provides strategic guidance on Form 990 reporting and compliance.
David plays a leading role in driving the firm’s Audit & Assurance practice, providing strategic oversight on complex engagements and advising client leadership and boards on risk, internal controls, and regulatory matters. Known for his practical insight and responsive approach, he ensures the delivery of high-quality, efficient outcomes while fostering strong, collaborative client relationships.
In addition to his client leadership, David is an active thought leader in the nonprofit sector and frequently speaks at AICPA and state society conferences, as well as industry workshops, on emerging accounting, auditing, and regulatory developments. He also contributes to advancing the firm’s audit methodology, mentoring team members, and providing training on nonprofit accounting and Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
David earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business.
