Deep’s work focuses on helping nonprofit organizations navigate the complex regulatory and reporting requirements associated with tax-exempt status. He has extensive experience with Form 990 and Form 5500 filings, as well as advising organizations on technical tax matters affecting nonprofit operations, governance, and compliance.
Prior to joining Han Group in 2023, Deep began his public accounting career at Raffa, P.C. (now Marcum LLP), where he spent 10 years in the firm’s national nonprofit tax group. During that time, he provided tax compliance and consulting services to more than 100 nonprofit organizations, developing deep expertise in nonprofit tax reporting and regulatory requirements.
Deep later joined SC&H Group in 2021, where he worked in the firm’s business tax department for two years. In that role, he provided tax compliance and advisory services to large hospital systems, private schools, and affordable housing organizations throughout the Greater Baltimore and Washington, DC region.
In addition to his client service work, Deep is an experienced educator and speaker on nonprofit tax matters. He has taught professional courses covering Form 990 compliance, lobbying and political activity rules, unrelated business income, and executive compensation considerations for tax-exempt organizations.
Deep also contributes his financial expertise to the nonprofit community through board service. He serves as Board Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair for An Open Book Foundation and is a Champion Board Member of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance.
