Position Summary

The Accounting Associate supports Han Group’s accounting and advisory services by assisting with daytoday financial operations for a diverse portfolio of nonprofit and missiondriven clients. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly close activities, and assisting with compliancerelated reporting under the supervision of senior accounting associate. The Accounting Associate will work collaboratively with internal teams and clients to ensure timely, accurate, and welldocumented financial information.

This position is ideal for an earlycareer accounting professional who is detailoriented, organized, and interested in building handson experience in nonprofit accounting, outsourced finance, and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day accounting activities for multiple client engagements, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and general ledger support.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized financial records in accordance with firm standards and applicable accounting guidance.
  • Support monthly and periodic close processes, including preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports for internal review and client delivery.
  • Support budget preparation and monitoring activities, including assisting with budget schedules, variance analyses, and supporting documentation.
  • Provide audit and attestation support, including preparing requested schedules, gathering supporting documentation, and responding to auditor or engagement team inquiries.
  • Assist senior accounting associate with special projects, analyses, and ad hoc client requests as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with internal team members and clients to request information, clarify transactions, and follow up on open items.
  • Adhere to firm policies, confidentiality requirements, and quality control standards.
  • Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge of nonprofit, outsourced accounting, and advisory practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • A service-oriented mindset, with the ability to support non-finance stakeholders clearly and professionally
  • Foundational understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits
  • Ability to work independently on client assignments while maintaining accountability and precision
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA eligible

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations or industry within the accounting field

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

  • Salary range: $65k – $72k
